My new favourite park in Singapore is Kent Ridge Park.  It’s quiet and close, with lots of large trees.  There’s also a short canopy walk.  Kent Ridge was also a British Military installation during WW II and was the site of a bloody battle between the Japanese and British-led Malay soldiers.
