Deering Island
Biking a week ago, we followed the edge of the Fraser and discovered an interesting sliver of the city. A little high-end enclave (to the right in photo) of manicured gardens and backyard jetties.
westside coyote
Spotted this coyote making its way back to Pacific Spirit park. Didn't register our presence or seem to care. Just kept on its way past our vehicle. I've seen a number of coyotes over the years, usually at dawn or dusk. This mid-day sighting was unusual.

Festival of Lights
Tonight we enjoyed, as we do each year, the Festival of Lights at Van Dusen Botanical Garden. Not as spectacular this time without a snowy dressing. Still, it twinkled with the usual magic.
